Hello Cleric. Over the past few months I have been trying to delve deep into all the content this wiki has to offer. To that end, I've read through the stories included in most of the User Stories categories, read through the Featured Author archive, and am currently combing through the stories featured in the Writer's Showcase forum. I'm almost half way through and have so far come across more than a dozen threads that needed to be deleted or moved, due to the story having been deleted, entire draft posted in the OP, etc.

My original intention was just to leave a comment on each flagging the relevant issues, and then message an admin with links to each all at once (Empy noticed some of my activity on Showcase and has already deleted a few). However, recently I learned from LOLSKELETONS that precedent exists on this wiki to appoint Showcase Moderators under the Discussions Moderator user role.

As you know, Shadowswimmer77 is the only user left from the original group that was selected. I realize that a lot has changed on the wiki since 2015 and such a position may be less relevant to the day-to-day functions of this wiki, but I'd like your permission to be granted or apply for this role. In addition to perusing the showcase forums, I feel I am also quick to spot spam comments, but usually don't consider it worth troubling the admins every time I see a spammy comment. In the past I had considered asking permission to apply for the role, but was hesitant since there didn't seem to be a clear body of policy governing what Discussions Moderators would do. However, now that I know there is precedent and that Shadowswimmer77 hasn't been the only one, and since I've been reading through the Showcase board anyway, I figured now is as good a time as any to ask. I am also planning to continue checking the latest posts on the board after I have finished reading through the current posts, so hopefully I will continue to notice threads that need some kind of staff action. I don't feel ready to apply for adminship but I feel I would make good use of the DM role.

Please let me know if this is an option you would consider. Thank you.
